I’m well on my way with my next painting now which stars the Wildebeest of the Masai Mara. Since Wildebeest form large herds (the largest known numbering over one million animals!), I wanted to paint my own herd and do a large number of animals as opposed to just one or two.
Here’s one of my photos of the Wildebeest and Zebras in the Masai Mara from 2007.
I decided pretty early on that I didn’t want to do a naturalistic background/setting for my Twinga herd, so I went for something bold that represents how tough and brave these overshadowed African animals are and also links them to the Masai tribe.

Twit-A-Woo and a Happy New Year!
Hello all, hope you had a brilliant Christmas! Here’s a photo (not one of great quality unfortunately) of the Christmas commission I’ve been working on… For Libby from her mum!
