Twinga Art

The style I paint in is inspired by my own experiences in Africa, Tingatinga art and my love for creating cartoons, characters and stories. I aim to create pieces of art which are fun, intersting, bright, colourful and above all bring a smile to people's faces and a talking point to people's homes.
Kept this most recent painting a secret till now as it was a present for my friend and his little baby girl! Twiga Binti and Baba

I’m well on my way with my next painting now which stars the Wildebeest of the Masai Mara. Since Wildebeest form large herds (the largest known numbering over one million animals!), I wanted to paint my own herd and do a large number of animals as opposed to just one or two. Here’s one of my photos of the Wildebeest and Zebras in the Masai Mara from 2007.

I decided pretty early on that I didn’t want to do a naturalistic background/setting for my Twinga herd, so I went for something bold that represents how tough and brave these overshadowed African animals are and also links them to the Masai tribe.
Sneak peak coming soon…
